Entry-Level Accountant – Family-Run Agribusiness

We’re a proudly family-owned group that has grown over the years into a collection of businesses spanning farming (avocados, bananas, and coffee), a nursery, farm stall and restaurant, commercial property, export marketing, IT systems, and even avocado variety R&D.

Our businesses are hands-on and real-world, and while many day-to-day transactions are handled within the operations themselves, our finance team plays a critical role in bringing structure, accuracy, and clarity to the bigger picture.

The Role

We’re looking for an Entry-Level Accountant to join our group finance team — someone early in their accounting career who wants proper exposure, solid mentorship, and the chance to build strong foundations.

Your role will focus on:

• Keeping our financial records accurate, reconciled, and reliable.
• Supporting multiple business units with sound bookkeeping and financial discipline.
• Making sure delegated financial data across the business is reviewed, checked, and makes sense.
• Learning how different types of businesses work — from farms and nurseries to retail, property, and exports.

This is not a pure admin role, and it’s not about sitting in a silo.
It’s about learning how real businesses work financially, and doing the work properly.

About You

You’re the kind of person who:

• Enjoys accuracy, structure, and tidy reconciliations.
• Likes understanding why numbers look the way they do.
• Is comfortable working with systems, spreadsheets, and processes.
• Is happy to ask questions, learn, and grow.
• Appreciates a down-to-earth environment where people help each other.

Requirements:

• Diploma or Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 0–3 years relevant accounting or bookkeeping experience.
• A solid grasp of basic accounting principles.
• Comfortable working with Excel and financial systems (ERP exposure is a plus).
• A careful, methodical approach and good attention to detail.

If you’re starting off after studying, planning professional registration, or figuring out your long-term accounting path, this role gives you a strong, practical base to build from.

Experience in agriculture, retail, hospitality, or property is helpful — but not essential.
What matters more is your mindset and willingness to learn.
